CrowdTranslate

Import existing translations

If you are migrating to CrowdTranslate and already have translations for your project, you can import them to give contributors a head start.

To import existing translations, first ensure they are exported in a supported file format. Then follow these steps:

  1. Select a localization file from the sidebar.
  2. Click on the More button (three dots) located in the upper-right.
  3. Select Import translations.

A pop-up will appear, allowing you to upload a localization file that contains the existing translations.

Language of translations

Choose the target language for these translations (not the source language of your source strings).

Confidence in translations

Choose low, medium, or high to indicate your confidence level in the quality of these translations. Translations marked as low will require more upvotes from contributors to reach a high confidence level than if they were marked as medium. If the confidence level of an uploaded translation exceeds that of the current top translation, the uploaded translation will get automatically selected.

Localization file

The localization file containing the translations.

CrowdTranslate will try to match the strings in your uploaded file to the best of its ability (using the keys and other properties) and add the translations to the matched strings. Only translations that don’t exist already, will be added.
